Transland Group is proud to announce that Gary Owen has recently been appointed as Commercial Director, to be based at the company’s Fradley office. Gary will head up Transland’s Commercial Team in the UK, focusing on international business development.
Gary has a wealth of commercial experience in the freight sector, and recently spent 4 years with the Palletways UK network in a similar role. Before that, he was Group Sales Director with NGC Logistics. Gary has all the skills necessary to take Transland to the next level in terms of new global opportunities.
We would like to welcome Gary to the Transland team, and wish him all the best in his new role.
Transland Group celebrates its 30th year in business this month. We are very proud to have achieved this milestone. We took the opportunity to celebrate our employees, especially long-serving members of staff. On our anniversary date – the 5th of April – we held an office party, where we linked up our Dublin and Fradley offices so we could celebrate together!
Managing Director Kieran Conlon has overseen many changes to the company over the past 30 years, from its origins as a groupage and forwarding operator to a pallet distribution specialist. Since Brexit, Transland has emerged as a leading Customs Clearance expert in the movement of goods between the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.

Please find below our collection and delivery schedule for consignments that need to be delivered before Christmas in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Nationwide Deliveries (i.e. collection and delivery within Ireland):
Last collection in Ireland on Thursday 22nd December for delivery within Ireland on Friday 23rd December (AM only). Deliveries on Friday 23rd December MUST be booked in, and the delivery point must be open to receive the delivery, otherwise a re-delivery charge will apply. For collections from or deliveries to any remote / outlying areas in Ireland, please allow an extra day.
Exports from Ireland to the UK:
Last collection in Ireland on Monday 19th December for delivery in the UK before Christmas – please note: this is subject to Customs Clearance. Collections will still be carried out up until Thursday 22nd December, but deliveries will NOT be made before Christmas. Goods will be shipped and ready for delivery in the UK on Tue 3rd/Wed 4th January 2023.
Imports from the UK to Ireland:
Last collection in the UK on Monday 19th December for delivery in Ireland before Christmas; again, this is subject to Customs Clearance. Collections will still be carried out up until Thursday 22nd December, but deliveries will NOT be made before Christmas. Goods will be shipped and ready for delivery in Ireland on Tue 3rd/Wed 4th January 2023.
To speed up Customs Clearance and enable your consignment to be delivered as quickly as possible, please ensure that all required Customs Forms are completed correctly.
Exports from Ireland to Europe:
Our Direct Service to Europe currently runs twice a week (Tue & Friday departures ex Dublin). Transit times vary by country. Last departures from Dublin to our Netherlands hub will take place on Tuesday 20th December, for onward delivery to various European countries. Please note: transit times cannot be guaranteed on this service.
Imports from Europe to Ireland:
Our Direct Service from Europe runs twice-weekly (Tuesday and Friday departures ex Nijmegen in the Netherlands). Transit times vary by country. Last departures from our Netherlands hub will take place on Tuesday 20th December for onward delivery to Dublin. Please note: transit times cannot be guaranteed on this service.
For countries requiring longer transit times, please arrange collection as early as possible. For information on specific consignments, please contact the office.

HMRC will switch OFF their current CHIEF system (AKA the “Customs Handling of Import & Export Freight”) on 30th September 2022 for all new import declarations.
The new CDS system (Customs Declaration System) will replace it.
You’ll need to Register for CDS – but this can take time, so do this SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.
Many businesses will already have a UK Government Gateway account to access their personal or business tax account, and they should use this account to register for CDS.

In response to the growing Ukranian refugee crisis Transland, PalletXpress and B Logistics will be sending trailers of humanitarian aid to the Polish-Ukrainian border. The first trailers are departing on Wednesday 9th March 2022.
This project is being co-ordinated with a charity called Heart to Hand, who have been distributing humanitarian aid to Eastern Europe for the past 30 years. Heart To Hand are partnered with the Missionaries of Charity in Warsaw, Poland, who distribute the aid to the refugee camps.
